…Donate GH¢2,300 Metal Gate To School

By Alfred Adams

1The Naval Cluster of Schools Old Students Association (NAVAS), an association made up of past students of Takoradi Naval Base School, has rekindled the hope and aspirations of the pupils and students of the school.
The old students, numbering about 150, who are on a WhatsApp Platform, last Saturday donated and fixed an iron gate for the Naval Base School at a total cost of GH¢2,300. This is the first project embarked upon by the old students since the WhatsApp platform was formed a year ago.  The old students say they have other projects for the school, but first would liaise with the management to see other pressing needs the school would need.

In fact, it was a sight to behold, when the old students, some of whom are military officers and professional workers amongst others, converged to make history by donating an iron gate for the school.
Some of the executives of the Naval Old Students Association are Lady Barbara Gaisie, Captain Kwabena Nimako, Amanda Amanfo, Mrs. Jennifer Gudu, and Oswald Zorwonu among others.

Commissioning gate, Lady Barbara Gaisie, who spoke on behalf of the other executive members of the group, said they decided to donate the gate as way of showing appreciation to the school.

She promised, on behalf of the group, to continue to help as old students of the school.  Ms. Paulina Sam, Headmistress of the school, who cut the tape to commission the project, thanked the old students for showing the way.

She said what the old students had done goes to exemplify the fact that they had good thoughts about the school.  Earlier, the Naval old students undertook an hour health walk through the principal streets of Takoradi.  The group first converged at Jubilee Park, where they walked through the principal streets of Takoradi before eventually donating the metal gate to the school.
