Community Police assistants receive bicycles

Seventeen Community Police Officers of the National Youth Enterprise Agency (YEA) in the Bosome-Freho District have been handed a bicycle each to enhance efficiency in the discharge of their duties.
Mr. Kwame Adarkwah, District Chief Executive for the area, who handed over the bicycles to the District Police Command at a ceremony held at the premises of the District Assembly at Asiwa, the district capital, said the government was putting measures in place to making the agency perform better.
He said the release of the bicycles were an indication that the government is committed to modernising the agency, and were to enable them reach the communities in their catchment areas without hindrance.
Mr. Adarkwah urged the recipients to work hard to support the efforts being made by the District Police Command to maintain peace and order in the district at all times.
He also advised them not to lord themselves over the people in the discharge of their duties, reminding them that theirs is to complement the efforts of the police.
The District Commander of Police, DSP Albert Ode Quansah, received the bicycles on behalf of the police administration, and in turn, handed them over to the beneficiaries.
DSP Quansah thanked the government for the gesture, and pledged to make sure the items are put to good use to enhance community policing in the district.
He however, appealed to the government to ensure that their allowances are paid promptly, to enable them give out their best.
