The Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA) has undertaken a sod-cutting ceremony at Tsuibleoo for the construction of its first-ever Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound to provide “A close to client” health care delivery to members of the community.
The project, which is being financed by the government at a cost of GH¢135,349.72, is a single-storey structure, and expected to be completed within a period of four months. Ibrahim Baidoo, Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive, said the project is the Assembly’s commitment towards the delivery of quality health care to the people in the area. “While this is going to be the first of its kind, I would want to say that our biggest thanks goes to the community that we have a place to, at least, mount this project,” he added.
According to him, there is going to be a replica of the same project in other areas of the community. Furthermore, Ibrahim Baidoo disclosed that besides the CHIPS Compound, the area is going to benefit from an additional project, which is a police station that is envisaged to be constructed at Lebanon. The Chief of Ashaiman, Nii Annang Adjor, stated that he was very happy that health care had come to the doorsteps of the members of the community.
Nii Annang Adjor thanked members of the Tsuibleoo community for keeping the land safe for the project, because, according to him, it is very difficult to come by land in Ashaiman these days. “The people of Ashaiman are waiting for such a facility within the various communities, therefore, Tsuibleoo is fortunate to have this project mounted for them,” he noted.
In an interview with the Tema File, Alhaji Seidu Hamsa, the contractor for the project, explained that as a contractor he had pledged to go by the duration stated by the engineer in the contract document to complete the project within a period of four months, adding he was ready to do quality work.
