Kumawu in clean upA non-governmental organisation, Cornerstonage Dwellings (CSD), has donated a quantity of books to two senior high schools in the Region to help inculcate the habit of reading in students.

The books, comprising novels, economics, home economics and others, went to the Bosome-Freho Senior High Technical School and Beposo Senior High School (BOSEC).

About 600 books were given to the Bosome-Freho Senior High Technical School, while over 300 of the books went to BOSEC to help stock their respective libraries.

Presenting the books to the schools, Mr. Bernard Asare Boateng, President of CSD, told The Chronicle shortly after the presentation that the gesture is to help the students get extra learning materials to facilitate their studies.

He explained that the schools had libraries which were not well stocked, hence the decision to aid them by providing the books.

He noted that the presentation was a joint venture by the local CSD and its UK partner to inculcate the reading habit in students.

The Vice President of CSD, Mr. Kofi Tawiah Agyapong, urged the students to learn hard and take very good care of the books to help them use their time more profitably, instead of wasting their leisure time on unnecessary things.

The Headmaster of Bosome-Freho Senior High Technical School, Mr. Anthony Asante, thanked CSD for coming to the aid of the school, and urged other organisations to emulate the gesture.

The Headmistress of BOSEC, Mrs. Ellen Takyi-Mensah, expressed profound gratitude to CSD for the books, noting that they would be put to good use.

The Girls’ Prefect of the school, Miss Juliet Kwarteng, thanked the donors for the books, and assured them that the students will make good use of them and learn hard for a better future.
