The Saint Augustine’s Anglican Church at Manso-Domi in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region, which was established in 1914, has marked its 100 years Anniversary.
The Parish Priest of the church, Rev. Fr Moses Mensah, said 100 years of existence of the church is a great achievement, and commended the founding fathers for the hard work done. He told the congregation to intensify evangelism, based on hard work and dedication, to win more souls for Christ.
Rev Moses disclosed that the church had established five new branches at Manso-Suntreso, Manso-Adubia , Manso-Nkaaso, Krofufuom and Nkwanta in the district. The DCE for Amansie West, Mr. Alex Kwame Bonsu, commended the Anglican Church for development projects initiated in the areas of health, education and provision of potable water, and urged them to keep it up.
He appealed to parents to invest on their children to enable them become very useful citizens, and said the District Assembly had plans to construct a new classroom block for the town. Mr. Yaw Sarfo, a Kumasi-based businessman who chaired the meeting, commended the church for its hard work in the construction of a new church building to replace the old one.
