Bridgen Gap Movement Gives To Save Them Young Mission

Lt Col Edward Awaribey, Commander of the UNMIL GHANBATT 21AS PART of their responsibility to serve mankind, a non-governmental organization, Bridgen Gap Movement (BGM), which aims at assisting the needy by putting a smile on their faces, has donated domestic items to an orphanage -‘Save Them Young Mission’ in Ashaiman.
They also paid school fees for the children, by presenting to the school authorities a cheque for GHc5,000 to cover all expenses. Some of the items donated to the school were Bouncing Castle, bathing soap, washing powder, tooth paste, toilet rolls, detergents, tooth brush, biscuits and soft drinks.

The rest of the items include 10 bags of perfumed rice, milk, milo, noodles, vegetable cooking oil, assorted drinks and learning materials.

Handing the items to the school authorities, Richid Ofori, the Founder of Bridgend Gap Movement revealed that, their priority is to help the needy and that his outfit will continue to provide items which are very crucial in everyday life of the vulnerable in the society.

Mr. Richard continued that, it is only proper that as part of their corporate social responsibility, they show love to the needy and to ensure that they make the world a better place to live in.

He noted that his outfit will continue to put smiles on the faces of the poor, adding that each time God lays his hand on a particular institution, then they will determine what items need to be donated, depending on the needs of the less privileged”.

He, however, described the donation as little, but assured the school authorities to expect more, saying this donation is just the beginning of greater things to come.

She stated that even though it is good to put government on its toes to perform its responsibilities towards the people, especially the vulnerable, it is equally good that some individuals who are well to do in society will endeavor to support the needy.

“When we take a critical look at our community, we as individuals will be able to do certain things that will take the burden off the shoulders of government”, he observed. In conclusion, he advised the pupils to learn hard and become fruitful adults in future.

Receiving the items, the administrator of the school, Miss Rosemond Mensah expressed her gratitude to the donors and like the proverbial Oliver Twist called for more support from institutions and individuals to help complete their ongoing project that will create more room and space for the children.

She assured the general public that anything donated to the young mission is being properly used.
