1A new police station has been commissioned at Trede in the Atwima Kwanwoma District to facilitate law and order. A Neighbourhood Watchdog Committee has also been inaugurated to complement the efforts of the police.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, who performed the commissioning last week, encouraged the public to cultivate a sense a sense of responsibility to complement the efforts of the police in maintaining law and order.

3He noted that no community could develop amid a high rate of criminal activities, and stressed the need for the citizenry to help the police to achieve their mandate of ensuring a peaceful and stable society.

The Police Commander called for accurate and reliable information from members of the public to facilitate the tracking of criminals, and assured them of the police administration’s preparedness to make sure every community had a police station, but with the co-operation of the communities and members of the public.

21DCOP Boakye appealed to well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies to partner the police to perform their core duties in providing a peaceful society, in which the people can go about their activities without fear of their lives or properties.

Baffour Asare Owusu Amankwatia V, Bantamahene, who presided over the commissioning, commended DCOP Boakye for keeping the region calm and peaceful, in terms of the reduction of crime.
