Defence for Children International – Ghana (DCI-Ghana) has donated GH¢4,000 worth of computers, accessories and UPS to the Ashanti Regional of the Department of Social Development to enhance the keeping of statistics and data recording at the Probation Unit of the Department.
The items would also facilitate in-service training of staff.
Dr. George Oppong, Director of DCI-Ghana, explained at the presentation that the gesture was to assist the department deliver its mandate in areas of record keeping, data and statistics, and the training of staff.
Mr. Bernard Akonu Ottoo, Ashanti Regional Director of Social Development, who received the items, expressed his profound gratitude to DCI-Ghana, and assured the organisation that the gadgets would be put in good use to help the staff improve upon their mandate.
He pleaded with other organisations and corporate bodies to come to their aid, especially, in terms of logistics and funds, to enable the department to be more functional.
