Ten police posts have been commissioned at Atasemanso in Kumasi. As a result, the land Lords Association in the area has provided seven motorbikes to complement the efforts of the police in maintaining peace and order.
DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, entreated takeholders, property owners and the general public to prioritise personal safety and security. The Police Chief noted that there is no way a police officer could sleep while residents were sleepless, and further said security should be everyone’s priority.
He disclosed that over 80 motorbikes had been donated to the police by individuals and corporate bodies in the region over the past one year. Nana Owusu Ansah, Bekwai Abodom Benkumhene, who is Chairman of the Atasemanso Land Lords Association, also commended the Regional Commander for his role in ensuring peace and discipline in the region.
Oheneba Adusei Poku, the Akyempimhene of Kumasi, who presided over the commissioning of the police post at Atasemanso, commended DCOP Kofi Boakye for instilling total discipline in the police force and making the Police Service attractive. He explained that DCOP Boakye had personally motivated stakeholders to support the police service through the mobilisation of resources to ensure that the police deliver.
