A 3-unit classroom block, built by the Afigya Kwabre District Assembly, has been commissioned for the Sasa community in the Afigya Kwabre District. The Assembly also presented start-up capital to some persons living with disability to venture into soap making, cake and bread making to set-up their own businesses.
Mr. Kaakyire Oppong Kyekyeku, District Chief Executive (DCE), at the commissioning, said the gesture was in response to an appeal by the youth of the community for assistance to complete the Junior High School, which the community had initiated.
He commended the community for initiating the project, and called on other communities to emulate the participatory spirit to ensure the development of the area.
He urged Nananom to always consult the Assembly for the proper layout to differentiate between state and public property.
Nana Yaa Achiaa Sempeh, Queenmother of Sasa, commended the Assembly for the tremendous efforts in infrastructural development, and pleaded with the DCE and individuals to provide the community with teachers’ quarters, police station, and a hospital facility to enable them have easy access to those facilities. She bemoaned the fact the community cannot boast of a clinic or maternity home.
