2A new Health Centre has been commissioned at Tweapease in the Amansie Central District to provide the health needs of the about eight communities in the area.
The facility was constructed by the Amansie Central District Assembly to replace an old one which got burnt in 2013. Nana Kaakari Apau II, Omanhene of Asante Bekwai, who presided over the inaugural ceremony, observed the need for all stakeholders and corporate organisations to collaborate for the development in the area.

He appealed to organisations to come to the aid of the facility for it to become one of the best health centers in the district, and promised to reserve a tract of land for expansion purposes. The Regional Minister, Mr. Peter Anarfi-Mensah, commended nananom and the people in the area for their commitment towards improving their living standards.

He also cautioned the residents to desist from building on water ways and engaging in illegal mining, which, he observed, threatened the socio economic development of the people. Dr. Samuel Amanamah, a representative of the Regional Health Director, expressed his profound gratitude to the Assembly and government for the effort to rebuild the center, which serves a number of communities in the area.

According to him, CHPS compounds and health centers cannot be underestimated, because of the impact they make on the health of humanity, since their closeness to residents in the various communities helps to decongest health facilities in the towns and cities and reduce disease complications.

1Nana Prah I, head of the community (Odikro of Twapease), appealed to stakeholders, the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Ministry of Health (MoH) and the government to provide the health center with logistics to enable it adequately perform its mandate of delivering quality healthcare to the people.

He commended the government and the assembly for the efforts at ensuring that the people in the area have their fair share of the national cake in the area of health, and pleaded with corporate organisations and institutions which operate in the area to help provide a standby generator, borehole, and nurses’ quarters towards the efficient running of the facility.
