The Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana National Association of Garages would go to the polls on December 3, 2015, to elect regional executives to steer its affairs for the next four years.
The delegates would elect regional chairman, vice chairman, treasurer and organiser at the impending polls. The Association’s Regional Director of Elections, Mr. B. B. Basit, said nominations, which ended last Friday, are open to eligible elected zonal executives members, after which the aspirants would be vetted before the voting day.
About 250 delegates to be drawn from all the zones and districts are expected to vote in the polls, to be supervised by the Electoral Commission to ensure fairness.
Mr. Basit said co-opted members as zonal executives are not eligible to vote, in line with the electoral laws of the association. He said the Electoral College had put everything in place to ensure that the election is properly organised to be free and fair.
