2The sod has been cut for the construction of a modern Fire Station at Ejura in the Ejura- Sekyedumasi Municipality by Dr. Albert Brown Gaisie, Chief Fire Officer.
He joined the Ashanti Regional Minister and chiefs to perform the sod-cutting ceremony, as part of his official visit to the region. He announced the construction of a proposed Officers College at Ejura, meant for the training of fire officers to enhance their capabilities in fire prevention and fighting fire outbreaks in the country.

Dr. Gaisie also hinted that the government, through the Ministry for the Interior, in collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service, would soon construct a fire training academy at Duayaw Nkwanta in the Brong Ahafo Region for the Northern sector.

He commended nananom of Ejura for the support in ensuring that the edifice becomes a reality. The Chief Fireman entreated the public to always take education by the Fire Service personnel serious and abide by their rules and regulations, to help move the focus from fire fighting to fire prevention.

He also reminded the personnel that the only way they can compensate the community is to be on top of issues in case of any eventuality. He charged the personnel to do what they could in reducing fire outbreaks in the region, by embarking on educational programmes in schools, institutions and companies.

“Be loyal and disciplined in the performance of your job, while maintaining professionalism in service to the community,” he advised. The Chief Fire Officer also entreated fire personnel to team up with all security agencies in the service of the people, especially, in this election year, to maintain the peace currently prevailing in the country.

Mr. Alexander Ackon, Ashanti Regional Minister, expressed his profound gratitude to Nananom and the people of Ejura for their support to government programmes and projects, and assured them that the government will continue with its developmental agenda to ensure that every corner of the country is transformed.
