8th Pan African Legacy Project Donates To 3 Kumasi Institutions

The 8th Pan African Legacy Project, under the Chairmanship of Comrade Zaya Yeebo, has presented a quantity of books written by Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Polytechnic (K-Poly) and Ghana Library Board in Kumasi.

Each of the three institutions received 20 copies of assorted books to stock their libraries. Mr. Zaya Yeebo, former Peoples National Defence Council (PNDC) Secretary for Youth and Sports, who is the National Chairman of the project, said the main mandate of the Legacy Project is to acquire and distribute books authored by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and other Pan Africanists, including Frantz Fanon and Walter Rodney.

Mr. Pratt Jnr. said at the separate presentation ceremonies that the aim of the Legacy Project is to provide an engagement platform for issues relating to Africa, through the works and books of leading Pan Africans such as Ghana’s Kwame Nkrumah.

At the presentation Comrade Jerry Tetteh, Manager of the Freedom Bookshop in Accra, Nana Akwasi Kwarteng, a member of the Project, Comrade Kwesi Pratt Jnr, a Leading Member of the Socialist Forum of Ghana (SFG), Nana Ninsin-Imbeah II,  a member of the Project, and Comrade  Zaya Yeebo.

Madam Elizabeth Arthur, Regional Director of the Ghana Library Board (GLB), together with her deputy, Mr. Kwadwo Ofosu Frimpong, received the books on behalf of GLB, while Prof. Oduro took delivery of the books on behalf of the Vice Chancellor of KNUST. Rector N. N. Nsowah also received the share of the books for K-Poly.
