The Ashanti Regional branch of the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), led by Rev. Matthew Ashimolowo, has held its maiden Church Service in Kumasi.
The Regional Head of the KICC, Pastor Michael Cyrus Turkson, who is also the Ashanti Regional Administrative Manager of the Ghana Highway Authority, in his maiden sermon during the service held at the conference of the True Vine Hotel in Kumasi, urged believers to come out from their comfort zone and face the giants they have been avoiding.
According to him, many believers tend to blame the enemy whenever they face difficult times, forgetting that they can only be called champions when they overcome their enemies and win battles.
He, therefore, admonished Christians to take charge of every situation they find themselves in, and trust that out of those desperate situations come their hidden God-given championship abilities.
The congregation made intercessory prayers for the country, and also prayed for the conduct of peaceful elections in December. Pastor Turkson indicated that the London-based head pastor of KICC, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, would be in Ghana later in the year to perform the inaugural service of the branch church.
Mr. and Mrs. Kris Vleugels, Advisory Council Member of the European Christian Political Movement (ECPM), also visited and participated in the maiden service of the Ashanti KICC.
Also present were Rev Mark Adu-Gyamfi, CEO of True Vine Hotel, Kumasi, Nana Ninsin-Imbeah II, ex-Nyimfahen of the Mfantseman Council in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Edward K. Appiah, College of Art, KNUST, Kumasi, Mr. Paul Kwame Owusu, Businessman, Kumasi, members of KICC, Accra, and staff of the Ashanti Regional Office of the Ghana Highway Authority, Kumasi.
