Africa Youth Impact (AYI), an interdenominational Christian Organisation which seeks the welfare of the seemingly neglected and less privileged in society, has donated to inmates of the Kumasi Central Female Prisons.
Some of the items donated to the inmates include boxes of washing powder, key soap, toothpaste, a bag of rice, cooking oil and toiletries.
The group also embarked on the screening of the inmates for various ailments to help improve upon their health while serving their sentences.
Rev. S. K. Boateng, President of the organisation, indicated that its members comprised young professionals with genuine concerns to volunteer their time, skill, and other resources for the wellbeing of others.
He expressed his profound gratitude to their patrons and sponsors, very distinguished individuals, and groups who are consumed by the love of God to help bring their vision to fruition.
Rev. Boateng also pleaded with other social organisations and corporate bodies to ensure that they follow their shining example and come to the aid of the inmates of both female and male prisons.
He reminded members of the public that anybody could be a prisoner for one reason or another, and advised people to be concerned about the needs of prison inmates.
