From Ernest Best Anane, Ankaase-Ashanti.

The Afigya Kwabre District Assembly, in conjunction with the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana, has cut the sod for the construction of a six-unit classroom block for the Ankaase Methodist Primary.
Mr. Kaakyere Oppong Kyekyeku, District Chief Executive (DCE), explained that the facility would be the seventh school the Assembly has built through collaboration with the church.
He entreated the citizenry not to over rely on government or the politician for development, but contribute their quota in the putting up of infrastructure in their localities.
According to the DCE, education is the ultimate in life, and urged every single individual to take keen interest in the education of their children.
Rt. Rev. Bishop Christopher Nyarko Andam, Methodist Bishop of Kumasi, indicated that the Methodist Church  sees education as the key to holistic development and balanced spirituality, hence the building of schools and hospitals in most of the communities where the church is present. kaakyere-oppong-kyekyeku
Bishop Nyarko Andam advised parents and teachers to encourage their children to resort to the library and take their studies seriously to help improve on academic standards.
Mr. Joseph Atta Amankwah, Administrator of the Ankaase Methodist Faith Healing Hospital, commended the DCE for responding to the request to re-locate the school, which is on the hospital premises, to allow for.expansion works.
He also complained about the poor road net work from Ajuratia to Ankaase, which poses a serious challenge to patients, particularly pregnant women, who ply the road to access healthcare.

Nana Kofi Gyasi Ababio, Mamihene, who chaired the occasion, commended the Assembly and the Methodist Church collaboration, and urged other churches and institutions to do same for positive transformation in the country.
He also appealed to the Assembly, corporate bodies and other stakeholders for the establishment of a Nursing Training College, since the district can only boast of one Senior High School.
