The City Hospital at Amakom in Kumasi has organised a screening exercise for over 800 residents in its catchment area.
The Medical Director, Dr. E. K. Adinkra, indicated that the exercise would be sustained till the end of this month.
He announced plans by management to expand facilities and services like eye obstetrics, gynaecology, urology and dental at the hospitaldr-adinkra-jnr.
Dr. E. K. Adinkra disclosed that the hospital’s major challenge is in the area of claims for services rendered for National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) card-bearers.
According to him, since February this year, the NHIS claims have not been paid, and appealed to the government to follow the contractual agreement to pay claims every three months, to enable the facilities meet their commitments and other responsibilities.
