A one-day orientation course has been organised for 180 beneficiaries of the ICT Module, under the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneur Development Agency (GYEEDA), at Effiduase in the Sekyere East-District of the Ashanti Region.
The Ashanti Regional Co-ordinator of GYEEDA, Omar Ibrahim, said the course was designed to train the youth and provide them with the requisite skills in the field of ICT, and hoped that after the six months training, they would be self-employed and live decent lives.
The Rlg Regional Training Supervisor, Mr. Fred Gyima Agyeman, said the beneficiaries would be taken through basic computering, basic electronics, mobile phone hardware, mobile phone software and entrepreneurship studies.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Solomon Adjei Mensah, reiterated the government’s commitment to assist the youth to acquire employable skills.
“It is for this reason that the government rolled out more modules, tailored to suit the needs of our youth,” he stressed.
The DCE also advised the beneficiaries to work hard, in order to justify the huge investment the government was undertaking to improve their living conditions.
