The learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the region has been given a huge boost, as a total of 3,250 mobile computers have been distributed to teachers to facilitate the learning and teaching of ICT in schools.
According to the Deputy Minister of Pre-Tertiary Education, Alex Kyeremeh, the distribution of laptops to teachers is aimed at giving the Ghanaian student a solid ICT education from infancy.
He stated during the presentation of the laptops at a ceremony at the Anglican Senior High School in Kumasi last Friday, that the government is keen to take ICT to all parts of the country, hence, the need to train teachers on the subject matter.
The Techiman North legislature revealed that the internet is the new neighbourhood, and there was the need for school children to be taught ICT on this super highway technology in this era.
Alex Kyeremeh urged the teachers to always be professional in their line of duty, while the government is doing everything possible to make the profession attractive.
A beneficiary of the programme, Janet Gyamfi, expressed appreciation on behalf of her colleague teachers.
She thanked the Education Ministry and Rlg for taking them through such a laudable programme in ICT.
