E. K. Agyeman Mining Group Limited in Kumasi in has won a Silver Award at this year’s 7th Ghana Business and Financial Services Excellence Awards, organised by Top Brass Ghana, under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Accra.
The award was in recognition of the company’s commitment to the rules and regulations governing small scale mining operations in the country.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Agyeman Mining Company, Mr. Agyeman, expressed his appreciation to the organisers and the ministry for acknowledging the company’s efforts and performance towards economic growth.
He said the aAward will help boost the company’s efforts and spur it on to continue to operate within the rules and regulations guiding the mining sector.
Mr. Agyeman also noted that the company intended to improve the lives of the people, especially, the needy in the catchment areas of the company’s operations, to complement the government’s efforts at alleviating poverty among the citizenry to the minimum.
He appealed to the government to facilitate accessibility to credit facilities to enable small scale mining companies operate fully.
CEO Agyeman entreated his colleagues in the small scale mining sector to reclaim dug pits to ensure that mined lands are recovered for farming and developmental purposes, and to help allay fears that their activities pose a threat to humanity.
