Benvico Mining Company, which operates at Manso Mpatasie near Manso Mem in the Amansie West District, has presented items and cash worth about GH¢24,150 to the Manso Mpatasie community to support community initiated projects.
The items are 50 bags of cement, five packets of corrugated roofing sheets, and an amount of GH¢20,000. Making the presentation, the Director of Benvico Mining Company, Mr. Ben Owusu Achiaw, said the gesture formed part of the company’s social responsibility to support the community in which it operates.
He thanked the chiefs and people of Manso Mpatasie for their cooperation and support for the company. The Abusuapanin of the town, Nana Kwaku Gyamera, who received the items on behalf of the community, thanked the donor for the kind gesture.
Nana Gyamera appealed to other mining companies in the area to emulate the shining example of Benvico Mining Company. He said the items and cash would be used to develop the loss Junior High School (JHS) classroom block and the chief’s palace.
Nana Gyamera pledged nananom’s readiness to co-operate with the mining company, whose director, they described as truthful and a God-fearing man. Mr. K. A Peasah, District Mining Desk Officer and Mr. Cheslyn Community Development Officer, thanked the mining company for reclaiming about three acres of land it had mined on.
