1The Chief of Kwanwoma in the Atwima Kwanwoma District, Nana Kofi Adjei IV, has appealed to the District Assembly, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), and well-meaning Ghanaians to assist in the rehabilitation of the Local Junior High (JHS) and Primary schools.

His appeal follows the destruction of the Kwanwoma JHS and parts of the Primary School buildings. The roof of the JHS block was ripped off during a heavy rainstorm on April 20, this year, displacing over 240 JHS students and pupils, who are currently studying under trees, as the primary school block was also partly affected by the havoc.

Nana Adjei said the community was ready to provide communal labour towards the rehabilitation of the school blocks.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Nana Nkrumah, has since inspected the damage.Meanwhile, the Kwanwoma Chief has provided trips of sand for the construction of the two-kilometre Ampabame No.1 Kwanwoma road.

The community has also provided free accommodation for the workers of the construction firm to ensure the speedy execution of the project.

The said road project forms the first phase of the Sokoban-Kwanwoma road project awarded on contract by the government. The second phase covers the Kwanwoma-Trede junction road.

The Chief said the execution of the project would ensure that the Supam and Aboabo bridges along the road would be put in good shape.

The Project Director of Knato Construction Limited, the contractor, Mr. Benjamin Kwasi Arthur, thanked the chief and elders of Kwanwoma for the assistance in the form of sand and accommodation, and assured them that the project would be completed on schedule.
