The Trinity Home Academy, an orphanage located in the Akuapem South District of the region has benefited from Ama Okyere Foundation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) belonging to Ama Odame Okyere, second runner-up of TV3’s Ghana Most Beautiful, 8th Edition.
The Foundation has donated a quantity of food, including five bags of rice, tomato paste, tins of milk, cooking oil, bars of key soap, sugar, fruit drinks and toiletries as well as boxes of Indomie noodles, dustbins and other items worth GH¢1,200 to the Trinity Home Academy.
Miss Ama Odame Okyere said during the presentation that her outfit was touched by the plight of the children, and decided to donate the items to address some of their challenges.
The Ghana Most Beautiful second runner-up disclosed that notwithstanding the widow’s mite of the presentation, the items would go a long way to helping the children in their education to become responsible adults and contribute towards the development of society.
Ama, who doubles as the Ambassador for the National Sanitation Day Exercise, said the less privileged in society needed the support of those who are in good positions to help, in an effort to create an enabling environment for all people.
She also charged the management of the home to inculcate the discipline of clean environments into the children, and called on the general public to keep their environments and the country clean to be free from sickness.
Receiving the items, Madam Sophia Tsui Alarbi, Director of the center, thanked the Foundation for the donation, and called on other NGOs to emulate the gesture to help solve the numerous challenges facing the home.
She, however, appealed to other NGOs for financial assistance to enable the orphanage pay the school fees of the kids and teachers.
