Staff of the Anyinam Health Centre have appealed to the government and corporate bodies, as well as non-governmental organisations, to come to their aid, following the numerous challenges confronting the facility.
This was made public by the Pharmacist, Christiana Akuffo Birikorang, during a visit by some leaders of AMAMA, a locally-based association fighting for the development of Anyinam, Moseaso, Asamang Tamfoe, Mampong and Ankaase.
According to her, the facility currently only relies on rain water due to the breakdown of all taps at the hospital, which is a big headache for the workers and patients. “We don’t have air conditioner or fridge to store our medicines while we battle for enough beds for patients, notwithstanding the immense benefits residents in and around Anyinam derive from the facility,” she added.
The Chairman of AMAMA, Nana Agyei Bawuah, was worried about the situation at the clinic, and re-echoed the appeal of Mrs. Birikorang, even though he promised his association’s commitment. He said the association was set up to help in the development of the above-mentioned five communities, in the areas of education, health and sanitation, as well as security.
