12The Edusei Foundation (EF), in collaboration with Yeguaa Foundation, has donated items to the Bekwai Centre Destitute and Infirmary (BCDI) to put smiles on the faces of the inmates.
The two organisations, as part of their responsibilities to develop the youth for the future, and empower children, women and the physically challenged, donated food items worth GH¢9,500 to the 41 inmates of the centre.

The items included six cartoons of carnation milk, six maxi bags of stallion rice, 35 bags of toilet rolls, 100 tubers of yam, four bags of maize, 10 crates of eggs, five boxes of Kalypo drinks, two gallons of Frytol cooking oil, five boxes of malt and milk biscuits, three boxes of keysoap , three boxes of lavonce tomato paste, a box of sardines, and two bags of detergents.

The donation followed a situational report carried out by the Co-ordinator of EF, Lawyer Lawrence Bruce Kyei, which revealed that the BCDI is faced with food problems. Mr. Kwabena Kwaw Boadu Edusei indicated the gesture was by his US-based brother and founder of EF, Dr. Kwame Bawuah-Edusie, and the Yeguaa Foundation, a sister foundation named after their mother,

5Nana Adwoa Yeguaa seeks to empower children, women and the physically challenged in Ghana and in the Diaspora. He stressed that the two foundations were created with the ultimate aim of catering for the poor and needy. The Director of Yeguaa Foundation, Mrs Joyce Afari, urged the manager of the centre to take good care of the inmates.

Nana Kyeame Nsuapem Ababio, representing the Omanhene of Bekwai, Nana Kaakari Apau II, at the ceremony, thanked EF and YF for their humanitarian gesture. The Manager of BCDI, Mr. Akuoko Kwarteng Rahman, expressed his profound gratitude and appealed to donors to consider assisting six children of the home who have attained school going age, but cannot, because of financial constraints.
