The Victor Kusi Boateng Ministries (VKB), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) with members around the globe, has presented assorted items worth about GH¢4,000 to the inmates of the Central Destitute Infirmary at Bekwai-Amoafo in the Ashanti Region.
The items include bags of rice, maize, beans, cartons of canned fish, soap and detergents, gallons of oil, drinks, and an undisclosed amount of money for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and utility bills.
Mrs. Anita Kusi Boateng, Vice President of VKB Ministries, presenting the items, said the donation was to celebrate the birthday of Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng (her husband), Overseer of the Power Chapel Worldwide and President of VKB Ministries.
The Ministries has unofficially adopted the infirmary, which receives a meagre amount of GH¢575 subvention from the government, and relies on the benevolence of individuals such as the VKB Ministries and Rev. Kusi Boateng for their needs.
Mrs. Kusi Boateng said the inmates used to eat twice a day, or sometimes once, due to lack of food, but the ministries has been able to provide them three square meals a day for over a year. The Ministries has also provided the infirmary with a commercial stove, with cylinders, refrigerators, blenders and other items to make their stay a little comfortable.
She pledged that the ministries will continue to assist the infirmary. Receiving the items, Mr. Akuoko Rahman, Supervisor of the infirmary, was full of praises for Rev. Kusi Boateng and his Ministries for the continuous support.
He mentioned cash, wax prints and food to the caregivers from the VKB Ministries as huge incentives that support the authorities in taking care of the inmates. He also commended them for various assistances to the infirmary, but, however, called on others to emulate the good works of VKB Ministries.
