DCOP Kofi Boakye, Ashanti Regional Police Commander, has cut the sod for the commencement of a police post at Dominase in the Bekwai Municipality.
He commended nananom and the Bekwai Municipal Assembly for their willingness to partner the government and Police Service to combat criminal activities in the area. Commander Boakye noted that it was very vital that the residents provide a police station in their various communities, especially along the highways, in an effort at helping the police to fight crime within the communities.
He also tasked nananom and stakeholders in the area to establish community watchdog committees to complement police operations. The regional police head urged the residents to always provide the police with accurate information to enable them provide protection.
Nana Ntim Banahene, Krontihene of the Essumeja Traditional Area and Chief of Dominase also commended the Regional Commander for making their dream of having a police post come true, against criminal activities which have become rampant in the area recently.
He assured the police administration of their assistance to enable them deliver on their mandate. Madam Mary Jantuah, Municipal Chief Executive, expressed her profound gratitude to the Police Commander for his effort and eagerness in ensuring that there is total security in the region.
She gave the assurance that the assembly would partner stakeholders to ensure that all the sensitive areas and roads in the municipality have police posts to beef up security within the municipality.
