The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Peter Anarfi-Mensah, has donated over 200 bags of cement and 35 packets of roofing iron sheets to communities in the Ahafo Ano North constituency.
Twenty-five bags of cement went to Twabidi community towards the rehabilitation of the local school, while 100 bags went to various communities including Camp 2, Mfante, Subrisu, Siawkrom, Asuadae, Sikafremogya, Benuso, Boagyaa, Denyame and Asenkyem.
Communities which benefitted from the supply of roofing iron sheets are Odumasi, Subrisu, Camp2, Fawobotoso, Benuso and Asemkyem. The Minister, who is aspiring to contest the Ahafo Ano North parliamentary slot of the National Dempcratic Congress (NDC), has also provided 15 sets of jerseys and footballs to Denyame, Benuso, Appiakrom, Boagyaa No. 2, Subrisu and Nyamenehene.
Mr. Yaw Awuah, spokesman of Mr. Anarfi-Mensah, said the Minister had offered scholarships to 11 SHS students, and paid the registration fees for 10 others in the in the constituency.
The Minister has also constructed two and repaired seven boreholes for Appiakrom and Akrofunso. According to Mr. Awuah, the Minister is paying the salaries of teachers of five new English and Arabic schools at Subrisu, and two teachers of Fawobotoso Preparatory School towards the promotion of education.
