The Jacobu Sub-Traditional Council has installed Mr. Peter Anarfi-Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister, as the Nkosuohene of the area, under the stool name of Nana Anarfi-Mensah I.
He has sworn the oath of allegiance to Nana Fosu Kwadweabri, Chief of Jacobu, to complement the efforts of the chief and other stakeholders to champion the development of the area. The father of the Minister is a native of Jacobu.
Nana Fosu Kwadweabri said the enstoolment of the Regional Minister as Nkosuohene, follows his visionary leadership style and orientation for development, and expressed the hope that the vision of nananom to honour the Minister will help them work together to improve the socio-economic growth of the people, and the area as a whole.
The Chief made a passionate appeal to the government, through the Minister, to improve on the road network in the area. The new Jacobu Nkosuahene expressed his profound gratitude to Nananom, the Sub-Traditional Council, and the people of Jacobu for the honour done him, and pledged to always cooperate with nananom in all his endeavors in ensuring that the people benefit from his assignment.
The Minister later assisted the District Chief Executive (DCE), Dede Appiah, and nananom to commission the newly-completed District Agriculture office, initiated by the Amansie Central District Assembly. A sod was cut for the commencement of two 20-seater Kumasi Improved Ventilation Pits (KVIPs) with boreholes at different locations to help improve the health status of the people.
